재한 중국 동포단체인 전국동포총연합회(총회장 김호림)는 오는 12월 17일 서울 영등포구 SK리더스뷰에서 발대식을 개최한다. 중국동포 중에서 한국 국적을 회복한 이들이 2003년 설립한 단체인 전국귀한동포총연합회가 전국동포총연합회로 단체 명칭을 바꾸고 개최하는 첫 행사다.전국귀한동포총연합회는 동포 1세대 어르신들이 주축이 돼 20년간 한국에 뿌리를 내린 중국동포들의 삶과 권익을 위해 노력해왔다. 최근 내부에서 세대교체가 필요하다는 등의 목소리가 나오면서 전국에 흩어져 있는 중국동포들 간 교류와 협력을 강화하자는 취지에 따라 단체 이름을 변경했다. 발대식에서는 김호림 초대 총회장의 취임식도 진행된다. 김 총회장은 지난 7월 말 각 지부와 지회 회장 등이 참여하는 선거에서 만장일치로 총회장에 선출됐다.

NAOCK launch ceremony on Dec. 17; Kim Ho-rim inaugurated first president
The National Association of Chinese Koreans (President Kim Horim), an organization of compatriots from China residing in Korea, will hold an inauguration ceremony at the SK Leaders View building in Yeongdeungpo Ward in Seoul on Dec. 17. This is the first event held by the association, which was founded as the National Federation of Koreans (NFK) in 2003 by compatriots who recovered their Korean nationality and later changed its name to the current one.The NFK, led by first-generation compatriots, has been working for 20 years for the lives and rights of compatriots from China who have taken root in Korea. Recently, as internal voices called for generational reform, the name of the organization was changed with the aim of strengthening exchanges and cooperation among compatriots scattered across the country. The launch ceremony will also be the inaugural ceremony of the first president, Kim Ho-rim. President Kim was unanimously elected to his position in an election at the end of July in which presidents of all local branches participated.
